Steve Tirado is a Director and President of the Foundation focused on providing scholarships for high school seniors in the San Francisco Bay Area. He is a business consultant and investor in high technology companies and has also consulted to the wall street investment community. Steve spent 10 years at Silicon Image, a consumer electronics semiconductor company, where he was most recently its CEO. Prior to working for Silicon Image, Steve spent 13 years at Sun Microsystems, where he held senior positions in sales and marketing. Mr. Tirado received a B.A. in psychology from the University of California at Santa Barbara, an M.S.W. from Boston University and an M.B.A. from the University of California Berkeley. Teresa Tirado is a Director and Secretary of the Foundation Board. She has been an active member of the Castro Valley Latino Parents Education Association and been an active parent in the Castro Valley School System for many years. Teresa has been honored by the Castro Valley Board of Education for her commitment and contributions to the Castro Valley Schools and cares deeply for continuing education.
Monica Tirado is a Director in the Foundation and works on the Evaluation Committee. Monica is an Assistant Program Director for the Spectrum Center Schools and Programs in Hayward California which offers educational programs for children with special needs. She has a B.A. in Psychology from Pitzer College and an M.A. in Education from the California State University of Sacramento. Monica also has her Clear Education Specialist teaching credential in California.
Raquel Tirado is a Director in the Foundation and works on the Evaluation Committee. Raquel is a fashion designer based in New York City. She has worked for designers in high-end apparel such as Diane Von Furstenburg and Rag & Bone. She is currently designing at J.Crew and is happy to be in a career that is both challenging and creatively stimulating. Raquel’s educational background includes her B.A. in Art and Feminist Studies from the University of California Santa Cruz and her M.F.A. in Fashion Design from the San Francisco Academy of Art. Raquel is proud to be a part of the Steve Tirado Family foundation and looks forward to assisting in the candidacy process as well as donating her time and networking contacts in the industry.
Erica Tirado is a Director in the Foundation and works on the Evaluation Committee. She is an Account Executive based out of San Francisco for the publicly traded company Yelp. She previously worked for the Department of the Environment in San Francisco in their department of education giving presentations to K-12 schools on composting, recycling, and water preservation. Her educational background includes studies from around the world on a semester at sea and time in Italy. She has a B.A in Theatre arts from California State University of Fullerton. Erica is excited to serve on the board for the Steve Tirado family foundation. She has a passion for the arts, environment, and continued education and is happy to lend her insights and time to any Tirado Scholar.
